Introduction
|
| |
The DNA mark kit is a average looking felt tip pen, the type you buy for your kids.
The pen has no nib as such; the applicator end looks just like an eye liner pen, which when applied impresses a clear liquid that transfers a unique DNA to the property.
A police recognised product is Smart Water, designed for the protection of domestic and household possessions as well as commercial assets. This is a specifically unique coded liquid which is registered to the purchaser. The unique forensic fingerprint is practically invisible to the human eye. However it fluoresces under ultraviolet light that police use as standard, and is virtually impossible to completely remove

What If You Are Burgled
|
| |
If the law enforcement agencies discover a number of DVD players in the home of a known burglar, they will more than likely scan it and it is very likely that any marked items will be recovered and returned to their rightful owners and more importantly assist in convicting an offender.
Once your property is marked up with this technology, you would register it straight away! The advantages are relatively good and providing that you do not lend your DNA kit to someone else the system should work.
There are cost implications in recovering DNA, like there is with any investigative work, never the less the whole process is worth it if it means convicting a criminal and reducing crime and the fear of it!

For Commercial Use
|
| |
Smart water has been already tested and successfully used in lots of business establishments. If an offender enters a premises illegally technology allows a system to spray Smart Water onto them. The spray is activated when a break-in is detected covering the burglar with the solution. This is visible for weeks under ultra violet light. Ultimately this can link the person to that particular property. SmartWater is also being used to fight vehicle theft. Cars are being fitted with spray systems.

Where To Apply
|
| |
Smart Water can be applied to almost anything, ranging from many household goods to tools and garden equipment. It needs to be applied on surfaces where you would not normally touch it during the course of it's operation. For example if you was to mark a television, you would not mark the TV's control/button areas, but would around the front where even if lifted would be remotely out of the way! Always be mindful when dusting such appliances, think out of the box and you should be ok. This method of marking is in my opinion far better than the standard UV pens available. With the UV Pens you need to write details such as your postcode on every item you possess. This can be time consuming and it can rub off over time. Also there is no reliable database to verify and requires more leg work for all concerned. Still I think any crime prevention techniques are worth applying and would not criticise any method if it means reducing such crimes. Thankfully with Smart Water you can take advantage of this cutting edge technology to protect your property with indisputable identification. I hope my review has been helpful and thanks for visiting! Crime Reduction Home Page
